My Project Updates: Imposter Syndrome Cat 😺
-
In my first update for 'Imposter Cat', I wrote that I want to:
- Get in touch with people identifying with imposter syndrome
- Look for patterns between people
- Make something that they'll enjoy
User Demographics
I have a twitter account already for this project which has a following of ~350 people, and here is the demographics of those followers to help me build some personas from:
I found it funny that they like dogs most, so maybe I could make 'imposter poodle' instead of imposter cat
The audience is also 59% female
Personality Insights
The Imposter Cat Twitter account retweets people who mention 'Imposter Syndrome'. So far, it has shared around 8,300 tweets all around the same topic, by similar people. It therefore made sense to analyse these tweets.
I did this in less than 1 minute using a tool from IBM Watson:
I then used the same tool to analyse the text of articles written on imposter syndrome, that are featured on my site, impostersyndrome.life:
I noticed many similarities between the tweets and the articles:
- Keen to help others
- open personality (curious, emotionally-aware, sensitive to beauty and willing to try new things)
- They "prefer to challenge authority and traditional values to help bring about positive changes"
Hypothesis
Overall I have a hunch that this audience wants to help eachother, but at the same time, are more self-concious and don't always want to be around other people.
Next I'll do some really quick empathy maps based on this!
